#### Overview

Write-Back is an analytics extension that enables users to submit data directly from a Tableau dashboard or a Power BI report to your database. This functionality allows power users to implement actionable use cases while remaining on the analysis flow.

Additionally, Write-Back offers robust security, auditing, and other corporate features making it an enterprise-grade extension that seamlessly integrates with your existing infrastructure whether it is on-prem or in the cloud. If you need help you can always reach out to our support team.

### Usability

Write-Back enables you to do the whole process through a UI, from setup to data submission as well as configuring your own datasets. This means both dashboard creators as well as dashboard viewers can easily use Write-Back in an agile way. 

-   It has an intuitive UI that allows tailoring usage according to your use cases, including submitting data on forms, tables and data grids. 
    
-   Add, edit and delete data entries from the UI. All database management actions are handled automatically by Write-Back.
    
-   The original data is never affected because Write-Back uses a different database to store its data.
    
-   Displaying rich text on Tableau dashboards is also available.

### Administration & Embedding

Write-Back has a tool dedicated to the configuration and management of Write-Back. 

-   You can easily manage any server technical settings, including database connections, certificates in an integrated UI.
    
-   An authorisation mechanism is available so you can manage who does what. 
    
-   There is also is a theming mechanism so you can adjust Write-Back look regarding logos and colours.

### Audit Tracking

Any action on Write-Back regarding data or configuration is audited, so you can always keep track of who did what and when.
